Today makes a week!

Posted by Matthew

Thomas will be a week old today at 6pm. It’s so true how time flies. I am trying to enjoy every minute of him being little. I am sure it is true that I will blink my eyes and he will be eighteen and off to college. Since I am back at work and trying to bring home the bacon, I try to help out as much as possible when I get home (aka. change diapers).

I never knew how I would feel after having a baby. I have to say that it has been one of the most amazing events of my life. I find myself having a hard time focusing during certain moments just thinking about him and all the hard work I want to contribute to help him grow to be a fine young man. The other part of me is excited about doing things with him as he gets older. It’s going to be super fun taking him fishing, camping, biking, hiking and all the other fun outdoor menagerie.

More pics and no sleep.

Posted by Matthew

Our first night home we learned when people said, “you will get no sleep,” they meant literally and not figuratively. We were up all night with our little guy. He is still so wonderful. More pictures and information to come in the near future.

Off to take a nap now.

He’s Here! Welcome Thomas!

Posted by Matthew

On Wednesday at 5:56pm, Thomas entered this world weighing 6lbs 7oz and measured 19 inches long. Maybe I am a little biased, but he is the cutest baby in the entire world. More updates to come. Now that we are home, we are all trying to get settled in.

VOTE FOR A NAME!

Posted by Matthew

Check out the names list. You can either vote for one already entered (not Abdulah, thanks for that gem by the way) or you can enter a new one.

I just entered a new one that I am thinking of. It is Elon which means oak in Hebrew. Just a thought. There is so much in a name.

Week 40 – How lame, I missed adding week 39

Posted by Matthew

Well, here we are, ready for go time. Where are you little baby? We are all ready for you to come see us now. We want to see your cute little face. Mommy is getting restless as she awaits your arrival.

As of Tuesday, the baby is due! Any time past Tuesday he is past his due date. We have been trying alot of techniques we have heard of to help the baby be ready to go. So far, he is loving it in the womb and not ready to leave.

Again, I promise that as soon as I can, I will post all that I can about the delivery and the pictures I take so that you all can see him. We are so excited we can’t stand it. If he only knew how much loving he is going to get when he gets here! He is going to be spoiled, that’s for sure.

Here’s to you little baby, I hope you are doing well and you just come when you’re ready (even though mommy was ready last week or earlier). See ya when you get here.

Scalini’s Eggplant Parmigiana

Posted by Matthew

We went Saturday night and we have a few hours left to see if it works. If he comes, he will only be eight days early. We both had the eggplant parmigiana. Apparently we have a total of 48 hours for the food to do its work. Now we wait…

Week 38

Posted by Matthew

We are now at week 38 in our little baby’s development. At this point he should weight over 6.5 pounds and be around 19-1/2″ long.

Heather just went to have a check-up and got to have an ultrasound. The baby is doing great! His heartbeat is good and everything is perfect.

Something interesting to note is a legend or story that has come to my attention through co-workers and friends. Apparently women that are ready to have their baby go to eat at Scalinis restaurant and order the eggplant parmigiana. Here is a link in case you want to check out other babies born because the mother enjoyed this delectable dish either by eating at the restaurant or by making the recipe at home. I am thinking Heather wants to visit this weekend.
